The Manila Kingpin

Manila Kingpin: The Asiong Salonga Story was the most awesome 2011 MMFF entry to date. For the obvious reason, I think it has the unique storyline (oops, no offense to other entries).

For the record, I don’t want to blog like a professional movie critic. But, I really I love the movie. In translating the words of my fellow colleague, ‘Ganda ng movie! Really worth it’. The fight scenes were incredibly assembled. It’s like I’ve watched Kill Bill, The Matric and even Rurouni Kenshin. That’s right, ganun sya kaganda.

As for the story, this defied the usual pinoy action flick. You know, the usual one-liners and the sexiness (tacky sexy scenes). As for the acting,  they all had their winning moment. By the way, kudos to John Regala, Baron Geisler, Carla Abellana and E.R Ejercito for the nakaka-dalang acting.

Just like any other Pinoy movie MMFF entry, hindi nawawala an controversy ng movie na ito. Even though it has a lot of negative publicities, I think it helped the movie to have more watchers. As for the movie who garnered MMFF Best Picture, it’s all worth it.

If you still haven’t watch, go watch it It’s worth the wait, money and ka-kwento kwento talaga sya 🙂
